The members in INTACH are elected through an electoral process. In which the General Body is responsible for electing the members of Governing Council through a postal ballot at the time of its annual general meeting from amongst members enjoying voting rights.

The Governing Council in turn elects from among its Members the Executive Committee. The Executive Committee consists of 9 Members in which one of the members should have expertise in legal matters and another in financial affairs.
